Charge for email overages automatically

Last updated: 29 April 2024

Currently, all charges for email overages are done manually. If a customer goes over their plan's email sending limit, they will receive an email at the end of their billing period with a link to pay for these overages.

This process is cumbersome and annoying, but it reflects the reality of one-off email charges. Credit card companies and payment processors differentiate between one-time and subscription charges. While the latter can be charged on a regular basis, one-off charges like email overages (which could technically change every month) need to be processed manually.

Given these constraints, I want to explore how we can make this process less annoying for customers, while keeping the flexible nature of Magic Pages' current plans.

If you have any thoughts on that, please let me know in the comments below!
